Northern Europe is very similar to the areas surrounding the Himalayas: a big mountain range (alps, carpathians…) that engenders a lot of big stable rivers northwards

(Southwards is mountains straight into the sea)

So yes unsurprisingly NE is high density and would have had an even higher if it hadn’t been for colonizations
